Now, you might be wondering how this book is relevant to lifting weights. Well, just like White Fang had to overcome obstacles and adapt to his environment in order to survive, we too have to overcome obstacles and adapt to our environment in order to become stronger. And just like White Fang had to rely on his natural instincts and abilities to succeed, we too have to rely on our natural abilities and choose the exercises that work best for us.

For me, that exercise is the deadlift. It’s a full-body compound movement that targets multiple muscle groups at once, and there’s no better feeling than picking up a heavy weight off the ground. So, the next time someone brags about their bench press numbers, remind them that the deadlift is the true test of strength.
